I have a known bee hive in a tree about ooh.. 400 feet from my property line. I find 3-4 honey bees constantly in every one of the flowers on my pumpkins and squash. Is it normal to have so many honey bees or am I blessed with having the colony so close? Sometimes a bee is dead in there, was it because the closed up for the night and they were left inside or is it common for them to just die of "old age" I use no pesticides or chemicals on my garden.

Does having a heavy amount of honeybees visit my garden cause bigger veggies? does it make bigger plants? or anything? I love sitting there watching them collect the pollen and fly off. It sure is a beautiful thing (honeybees)

You are exceptionally blessed to have a colony so close. Thank the Deity of your choice. :-D

Bees don't cause you to have larger veggies and fruits, but they do cause you to have MORE veggies and fruits. Without them, the flowers have to depend upon the wind to pollinate them...which is not very efficient. With them, nearly ALL your flowers get pollinated, which means nearly ALL of the flowers bear fruit.

Peace,
Caliann
